Rachel & David

Rachel and David had such a sweet intimate ceremony at their church followed by a beautiful rustic reception at their family farm, Mathre 1916! I was so honored to be a part of capturing these special moment and it even ended with a very professional fireworks show,  which gave me an opportunity to play around with some new lighting equipment I just got the day before!

Congrats again you two!

Tips & Tricks for great wedding photos!

hey everyone!! I know the photographer is the main person making sure your photos are great but here are some things you can help with too!

1. Bring some sweet meaningful and personalized things to photograph as details before the ceremony

such as a paper copy of your vows, or your great grandmas handkerchief, or converse with your new last name on them!

2. Make sure all the rings are in one spot so the photographer can get photos of them before the ceremony while everyone is relaxing & getting ready as opposed to when there's a time crunch after the ceremony

3. Bridesmaids & bride, find some fun robes or cute t shirts to get ready in so the pictures look uniform and there aren't any clashing colors!

4. Take your engagement photos with the same photographer you have booked for your wedding! This will help you feel comfortable with your photographer and will give you an idea of the shooting style they have before the big day!

5. Choose getting ready areas that have a lot of natural light and/or light colored walls!!! This will make a HUGE difference. You will have more opportunity to get those light & natural looking photos. But if it's not possible your photographer will still be able to get you some beautiful pictures!

6. Bring a copy of your Save the date & or wedding invitation to get photographed along with the details

7. Save time for sunset!! I know the reception can be a hectic time, but I promise it'll be so worth it to let your photographer steal you and your new spouse for a few minutes to get some dreamy golden hour pictures!  They are some of my favorite to shoot!

8. Make a list of all the family combinations you want! We most likely won't know who is who and we want to make sure all your loved ones get pictures and it runs smoothly and in a timely fashion

9. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!! This day will come and go before you know it, and you're going to want to look back and see photos where you're joyful and enjoying yourself and that is all that really matters when it comes down to it! As a photographer these are just some of the things I look for when photographing your wedding but capturing all the emotions that come with this special day is my favorite part of it all!

I am finally feeling confident in my work and so proud of what I'm putting out. I hope you all would agree. I really just want to say thank you to all the Brides & Grooms who have taken a chance on me and asked me to be their photographer. I am truly honored

Winter Bridal Editorial

I had such and amazing time planning and shooting this! A very special thank you to Alyssa Kristin Bridal for loaning us this beautiful gown! She is such a talented designer. And the lovely Anna Deblecourt for braving the cold and killing this shoot as my bride!

I have had the honor to shoot a few weddings at Bear Cave Lake in the past and they have been nothing short of beautiful, but I must say I am IN LOVE with this location during the winter, if you haven't yet, take some time to check it out. Perfect for all events large or small.

As always the shoot would not be complete without a great glam team! Madelyn Lindberg is a crazy talented makeup artist that Ive known for a very long time and her work never ceases to amaze me! This was my first time working with Andrea Azcona but it won't be the last, brides you have to contact her for your wedding hair!! So talented.

Surprisingly I did all the floral work and it was so much fun!!

Jake & Destiny

I am SO excited these two are engaged! I took some anniversary photos for them a few years ago and I am honored that they continue to bring their business to me. What a fun session we had in Chicago yesterday! Yes, I said yesterday!! I was so happy with the turnout that my impatience resulted in editing them all in one night, whoops (; The wedding next november at Northfork Farms is going to be insanely beautiful. Again, congratulations you two & I'll see you at the wedding!

Class of 2017 Senior Reps

We had so much fun shooting this fun fairy tale look. These girls are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! how did I luck out with such photogenic senior reps!? Make sure to chat with them if you have any questions about GDP Senior sessions and what its like to work with me!

A HUGE thanks to Madelyn Lindberg for doing such a great job on the makeup for this shoot! Make sure to follow her on IG @maddielee.mua, you won't be disappointed!

Bobby + Michelle

What a perfect wedding! I couldn't have asked for a sweeter family to work with or a more beautiful couple. And of course the furry friends added a cuteness overload to this suburban barn wedding, not to mention the fairytale football / cheerleader high school sweetheart story. Congratulations Bobby & Michelle, I am wishing you all the best!
